Bondage. The word on everyone’s lips, or so it seems! Here are our answers to a few of your most recent bondage questions.
Is it freaky or a fetish? Well, read on and discover why we say 'No' to this question and give a big nod to “Bondage is Fun”.
What is bondage?
Bondage basically means to restrict movement or freedom.
What is BDSM?
“BDSM” encompasses a diverse range of sexual & sensual activities. It can include sexual role playing, sensory games ranging from teasing to intense “pain”.
The “B” Word
Bondage plays a part in many “ordinary” couple’s sex lives. It’s probably a lot more popular than you think in its gentler forms. Believe me, not everyone that is into bondage is into harsh whips and chains, or spiky necklaces for that matter. Bondage fans are not always (but can be) hardened pain lovers or givers.
Domination / fetish Wear?
Power, control and being in control; having a command over your partner, a feeling of supremacy and ruling your partners every desire… If this is what floats your boat, it’s very simple to slip into a little something to make you look and feel the part.
What type of Bondage Toys Can I Buy?
At RedCherry we sell the soft side of bondage toys.
Submissive?
If your desire is to be obedient, passive, compliant and dutiful to your partner, (you docile thing!), you can slip into the acquiescent role and allow your partner to dominate you! Remember, these games must be based on total trust. Your “stop word” needs to be an absolute break off from the role and your partner must understand this otherwise you could put yourselves in danger.
Safety for submissives
There are some obvious Do’s & Don’ts if you’re entering into the world of Bondage, especially if you’re using any kind of equipment:
- Know & trust your partner and don’t experiment with this kind of play with strangers, however charming they seem!
- Everything you do should be consensual and fun for both of you. Don't let a partner bully you into doing something you are not comfortable with.
- Agree rules & limits as to what you’re both comfortable with. Discuss things beforehand. That can be a huge turn on anyway, and builds up the anticipation…
- Don't leave any partner alone whilst tied up or restrained. Similarly don’t play bondage games in remote places in case anything unexpected happens!
- Have a STOP word. Use it and make sure you trust your partner to respect it. Don’t just use the word STOP because that’s commonly called out during lovemaking when you don’t really mean it!
- Don't tie anything around your partners neck unless it is a special collar specifically designed for this purpose.
- Listen. Bondage and domination should be intense but also erotic and pleasurable – and fun.
- Don't restrict or block your partners breathing. These kinds of games are dangerous and just not worth it.
- Take it slowly. Start with “softer” toys before getting hardcore. Don't forget to have fun!
